Futura Polyesters of India has successfully developed PET/PTN alloys to produce beer bottles through stretch blow molding. According to the report, the barrier properties of the alloy are greatly improved when compared with pure PET. Beer bottles produced with the new resin have a barrier property of C02 that is 18 times higher than that of PET, and a barrier property that is 9 times higher than that of O2. This means that beer bottles processed with this alloy have a longer shelf life of beer.
